YouTube Disney Roundup
April 27, 2007
I’ve been stuck at home sick with bronchitis for the last couple days, and all I can say is thank goodness for the interweb. It’s keeping me quite amused while I wait for the antibiotics to kick in. Not only have I almost caught up on Lost, but there’s an endless stream of mindless (and otherwise) entertainment available on YouTube.
A few of my favorites:
- Banksy leaves a Guantanamo Bay detainee at Disneyland: Bansky preparing for and implementing his guerrilla art from last year.
- The Forgotten Legendary Years at Disney’s Pop Century: A tour of the incomplete second phase of Scopa Towers. Anybody know for sure if this video’s legit? It sure looks it.
- Mickey Mouse Monopoly: Disney, Childhood & Corporate Power: A critical look at Disney, especially with regard to race and gender.
- Tokyo Disneyland resort Xmas Special 2002: This will surely be a new seasonal favorite for me!
- Disneyland Home Movies: Somebody’s family footage from the 1960s and 1970s. Fashion!
- I’ve Got A Jar of Dirt Remix Video - Jack Sparrow Sings: Guess what’s inside it?
- Opening to the old 1970s Wonderful World of Disney: Ah, it’s like buttered toast, comfort food of my childhood.
- Faster, Monorail! Kill!! Kill! (TRAILER): The video’s actually not that great, but I love the Russ Meyer reference so much I couldn’t resist. Where’s Kitten Natividad??
- Hey Ya! Charlie Brown Style: No, not technically Disney, but I’ll slide it in on a technicality since Dan Hess of MouseGuest is listed in the credits.
