When Mickey Was a Mouse

2719 Hyperion has a great piece today about seven brief, shining minutes in 1929 when Mickey was actually a Mouse, in the cartoon “When the Cat’s Away.”

We’re not gonna talk about the Goofy/Pluto question, of which my son reminded me last night as we were watching disc 2 of The Chronological Donald. Why is Pluto a dog-dog, and Goofy a person-dog? There are some mysteries we’re not meant to understand.
