Vanessa Hudgens, Tigger, and the Hollywood Star System

19 Oct

Last night, my 11-year old son mentioned that his 7-year-old cousin had told him that Gabriella from High School Musical got fired by Disney because Troy put naked pictures of her on the Internet. Everybody was suitably appalled, but neither of us thought that Vanessa Hudgens should actually be fired for making this regrettable but understandable mistake . . . so I’m glad to see this morning on The Disney Blog that while the nudie pictures were real, the firing was just a rumor (and of course, the identity of the photographer or the person who posted the image is not officially known).

All of this, of course, is just perfect timing for this shameless plug: My Jentasmic! column today at StudiosCentral.com discusses Vanessa Hudgens, Tigger, and the Hollywood Star System. You all know that Disney wasn’t the first studio ever to have brand-name stars make embarrassing choices in public, right?

Very nice shameless plug and even a better column this week. You’ll have to write a follow up when the Mongello nude pictures show up on the net.
