Epcot London or Real London?

3 Jan

Listeners of the Those Darn Cats podcast know that I have a tiny little bit of an opinion about the difference between Epcot pavillions and their corresponding real-world locations. So, can you spot six differences between these pictures of me in Epcot London and the real London? And can you tell which one is which?

London One

London Two

(Heya Danielle, since you took one of these pictures, no fair cheating!)

Top is Epcot. Bottom is London.

    I got them all:

    1. You must dress warmer in real London.
    2. Real London doesn’t have large plants & trees.
    3. Europe is more lenient on purple pants. Jen has more looks than Barbie.
    4. Real London puts multiple booths in each location.
    5. The little crown above “telephone” on Epcot London is painted over in red (a passive aggressive move to promote American independence?)
    6. Disney would never put a yellow high voltage sticker on a publicly accessible door (bottom, right side).

    Excellent observations!

Other differences between the two locations which should be readily apparent to the viewers:

    * Disney Pin Trading not nearly so prevalent in London than in Epcot.

    * While purple pants are better tolerated in Europe, black kitty ears may be considered a fashion faux pas outside of Halloween.

    * Slightly more graffiti is seen on London phone booths than those in Epcot.

The difference in dress code is the major give away 🙂

That and you posed on the opposite side of your body from your pose in the US 🙂
